Our prices vary between $1200 - $1800, currently. We price based on color, pattern, and genetics. We do not charge more for male vs female
We do sell with full AKC rights to approved breeders. Full AKC starts at $1400. Please discuss full AKC with me prior to placing a deposit if you have any intentions of breeding
The basic difference between an AKC limited registration and a full AKC registration is that LIMITED is meant for non-breeders while FULL is for professional breeders. If the dogs with limited registration are bred, then their puppies cannot be registered. Our contract states that no limited AKC registered puppy/dog is to be bred for any circumstance
We require a $200 deposit to hold your puppy of choice. We begin accepting deposits usually between 2-3 weeks of age, and we start by contacting the priority waiting list. After the priority waiting list has made their choices, any remaining puppies will be offered to the public. I will post them on the "Current Puppies" page, then onto PuppyFind.com
Our priority waiting list is a list of clients whom have placed a deposit to be on our waiting list. We contact each one individually when each litter is ready for deposits. We do not do any other form of waiting list. For more information about our priority waiting list click the "FIND OUT MORE" button and view the Waiting List download.
We accept PayPal (4% added to cover fees), Venmo, and cash. We do NOT accept checks! We also hope to in the near future be able to offer a 6 months no interest plan through PayPal Credit.
All of our puppies come home with a valid health certificate, (Note: with COVID-19 it is not always possible to get one); AKC Registration (LIMITED or FULL), new puppy blanket, new puppy toy, 3 days worth of our raw diet, disposable pee pads, a pack of wipes, poop bags, a new collar, and more! We are currently redoing our puppy packs to include even more helpful items when bringing home your new fur baby!
All of our puppies are dewormed at 2, 4, and 6 weeks with Panacur (Febendazole), vaccinated at 5 weeks with a NeoPar vaccine, vaccinated at 7 weeks with a 5-way vaccine, and kept up to date on vaccinations. Our puppies are then vet checked at 7.5 weeks where they are fully examined, including a fecal float, for any illness or defects. Our puppies go home with a health certificate from our vet.
Our primary vets are Dr. Sam Young and Dr. Michelle Moore at Sparta Road Veterinary Clinic in McMinnville, Tennessee. If you are local, I highly recommend taking all your fur babies to them! If you call to ask about us - my daughter & I have recently separated our dogs to separate accounts.
At our vets office my dogs are now under Lori Martinson - Country Creek Dachshunds.
My daughter also raises mini dachshunds Alysia Jackson - Red Barn Farms Minis and her dogs are under her boyfriends name Robbie Forth as he had been bringing his animals to these awesome vets long before we had.
Absolutely NOT. Under no circumstance do we allow new puppy parents to visit our home or visit with pups prior to their ready to go date. First off, it puts ALL puppies at risk. Parvo is a serious risk as well as all other diseases. Just think, what if someone else tracked parvo in and YOUR baby caught it?! As well as allowing people into our home is a risk to our family as well; there are way too many horror stories about puppy sales gone bad. We do pictures, videos, etc to keep you fully updated!
IN OUR HOME. Every one of our dogs & puppies are raised in our home right under our feet. We do crate train all of our adults, and they do eat and sleep in their crates. For the rest of the day, they are either running around in our fenced in yard or running through the house. All of our puppies are raised in whelping pens in our home - they are literally in the bedrooms below mine. They spend time daily in the living room with us and a few of the adult dogs as well.
We feed all of our dogs & puppies a raw diet that we highly recommend! Check out the raw feeding page for more information about it.
We recommend treats that follow our raw diet. We recommend single ingredient meat treats - just check the ingredient list.
There is an amazing treat subscription company that has treats and chews! https://real.dog/
Dachshunds are definitely quite stubborn. However, with patience and consistency, pottty training can be done quickly and efficiently. While our biggest recommendation is having a fenced in yard with a doggy door, if that is not possible, we recommend the PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System; it is an invisible fence that can be set up almost anywhere. As far as the doggy door, if that is not possible, then I recommend hanging a bell by the door they go out of & training them to ring it when they need to go. Feeding RAW also makes it easier to potty train as they do not poop nearly as much as they do when eating Kibble All KIbble is loaded with preseratives and fillers. RAW does not have any fillers and preseratives. With RAW their little bodys use most of what it eats.
We do!
We offer your new puppy to fly in cabin with a Flight Nanny usually ($500) You pay Flight Nanny directly when you meet him for your puppy. We do not allow shipping in cargo.
You can fly into BNA Nashville, Tennessee and we will meet you at the airport with your puppy currently no charge to meet you there. You pay your round trip ticket and a one way puppy ticket.
These are the 2 most popular ways of transportation for your new puppy.
Dachshund
We recommend waiting until at least 12 months of age before spaying or neutering your new puppy. Studies are beginning to prove that those additional hormones are strengthening the spine and helping prevent IVDD. Allow a female to go through at least one heat cycle prior to spaying. During this one heat cycle, you will need to be VERY careful as to not allow your female around any unneutered males! Heat cycles last for about 3 weeks.
We are very particular about who we allow to have breeding rights on our pups; however, even if you have a pregnant dog that is not from our lines, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
We allow deposits to be placed in person, but unless the dog/puppy is ready to leave that day, we do not bring the puppy with. This relates back to the germs & illness issue; when we bring a puppy to meet you, they can track anything and everything back in to the other puppies. We do pictures, videos, and I try my best to match personalities to what your life needs.
